Haliimaile General Store opened its welcoming doors in 1988. This restaurant/deli/general store/all-around wonderful destination was opened under Chef Bev Gannon and her husband, Joe's, leadership and vision.
Prior to opening Haliimaile General Store, they had run a successful local catering business for several years.
This eclectic jewel hits all the right high notes of homey, small town general store while providing a stellar menu of absolute winners.
You'll read a host of glowing reviews if you research this Maui treasure, and that's for good reason. They do it right.
building was a functioning general store going back the the earlier
part of the 20th century. Bev's creative cooking style
mixes with the rustic charm of the old store to make for the perfect
eclectic dining experience.
When Kim and I had the chance to have dinner there, we didn't know what to expect as we pulled up. It LOOKED like a general store. We figured, at best, it was a nice deli. But once inside, we found it to be so beautifully quaint. It has high ceilings and shelving with goods paying homage to the general store's roots.
The wait staff was friendly. The service was great. The food....the food was exceptional. Each bite was better than the last. We LOVED it.
Forget all the elaborate descriptions of the food. To borrow a phrase, “it's all good”. Let me add, some folks HAVE been known to lick the plate.
This is just a small sampling of the stunning and delicious menu choices available here.
This a preferred dining destination of locals and travelers alike so it's a great idea to book a reservation in advance. The restaurant stays busy all day long and only gets more so around meal time.
